We (my husband & I and our 2 sons) spent 4 weeks in Italy and stayed in 6 different apartments. We spent 7 nights in the apartment called I Ghiri. It was our best holiday accommodation by far. The views are nothing short of breathtaking: vineyards, olive groves, San Gimignano, rolling hills... I cannot believe that there are no photographs of the views from the upstairs windows on the web. The owners, Mr & Mrs Alex are the most gracious and caring hosts we have ever come across - going way beyond the call of duty. The kitchen was equipped with everything required to prepare a banquet never mind a meal for 4. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. If we ever get the opportunity to go back to Toscana I will not be spending a single moment looking for accommodation -- my flights will be according to the availability of the accommodations at Appartamento I Ghiri!
Wonderful, quiet location with walks available through the vineyards and olive groves. Tremendous view from the bedrooms, close to the sights. Great hosts. Accommodations were outstanding. The pool was a great place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. Keep up the great work. However, it may be a good idea to fix the bedroom doors for more privacy...they don't close or lock properly!!!

• Advice for future guests? BOOK IT!!
• Mr Alex will provide all the info you may need.
• There is a fairly large supermarket about 7 km away (PAM)- it was the largest we came across during our stay in Italy.
• Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Florence, San Gimignano and Monteriggioni are but a few of the beautiful locations you can easily visit from Ulignano where the apartment is situated.
• And then there are the views from the top floor of the apartment... through the windows on the landing and the bedrooms... it is Tuscany at its most quintessential.

We had a wonderful time, the apartment was clean on arrival and the gardens and swimming pool were in very good condition. We found Alessandro and Margherita very accommodating hosts who spoke very good English. They were very willing to help us out with directions and places to go. Thank you to both of you for making our holiday so memorable. We loved it so much that we would like to return there again and would recommend it to anybody.

• You must buy your groceries and all food stuffs in Poggibonsi before arriving at the apartment.
• The road up to the apartment from Ulignano is very hard to find, so please be vigilant and look for the signs.
• Do your shopping at PAM store which is on the way to Appartamento Il Fienile.
• It is important that you have a GPS in your car, not only to find the accommodation but your way around.

We enjoyed our stay very much at Appartamento I Ghiri. Wonderfully friendly & helpful hosts who gave you privacy. Excellent location for day trips around Tuscany. View of San Gimignano from master bedroom window. Beautiful grounds and pool. Very quiet and comfortable.

We had a fantastic time at I Ghiri, it was a week to relax in the middle of a 10 week honeymoon. The place was very comfortable and peaceful.

• I Ghiri is in the countryside so you will need a car to get to the other towns.

I Ghiri is a beautiful apartment in a beautiful location. All the rooms are spacious, the kitchen is well equipped, the grounds well kept and the location is central for day trips to the major sights of Tuscany. Taking a day to lay by the pool and recharge was wonderful. We very much enjoyed our stay at I Ghiri. Since it was harvest season in the vineyards and hunting season the traffic along the farm roads started at dawn but remembering this is a working farm it is only natural.

• The PAM (large grocery store) in Poggibonsi is well stocked for all your grocery needs and only a 8 km drive.
• Restaurant Il Pino in San Gimignano provided an interesting and great meal.
• If going to the Uffizi Gallery or Accademia in Florence, ensure to prebook to avoid the long lines. We booked on line and it worked well.

I was shocked at how exquisite Appartamento I Ghiri is.
When we drove up we were breath taken. The house is extremely clean and stays nice and cool at night.
The owner was very kind. The apartment made the ambiance of Tuscany even that much more fabulous.
I highly recommend staying there. I would absolutely go back.

We enjoyed Appartamento  I Ghiri very much - it was the nicest accommodation we stayed in during our 4 weeks in Italy. It was spacious, well-laid out, and VERY well equipped. The owner was also very helpful and courteous.

Well located for day trips to Firenze, Pisa/Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano, Chianti Region, Montepulciano, etc.
Alex and Marguerite were wonderful hosts, and we appreciated that they were living on-site. The village of Ulignano was very close by, offering a wonderful pizza restaurant with excellent food and very affordable. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it. I would book it again. Thank you.

Nous avons été très heureux de pouvoir rester dans ce charmant gîte.
Pendant 1 semaine pluvieuse, nous avons pu apprécier le confort, le calme, votre générosité (les beau feux de cheminée) et l'environnement de votre demeure. Nous avons pu particulièrement aimée l'association fine et équilibrée de vos décors intérieur , ce mélange de nouveau et d'ancien qui donne a la brique et la pierre une certain harmonie. chaleureuse et animée. Que de beau goȗts, digne de figurer comme Votre appartement dans les revues de "AD" ou de Marie Claire Maison (FR).
Nous avons adorée le confort du lit et la douceur de la couette. Nous ôtons venue en Mai a Montepulciano ou nous avons déjà admire les splendides paysages Toscan. Malgré le détresse de pleuve, nous avons pu continuer notre visite vers Florence aussi que quelques villes pittoresque perchées sur le  hauteurs de Poggibonsi.
Nous continuons  notre route vers le golfe de Naples vers...qui sait un peu plus de soleil.
Nous vous embrassons et nous vous souhaitons beaucoup de bonne choses.

This is our fifth trip to Tuscany but La Ripa is by far the best apartment we have rented.
It is just a few steps from paradise and we have enjoyed a blissful peaceful time here.

We had an excellent holiday in a very relaxed environment which had great character. The apartment was very nicely decorated and furnished and well equipped. The gardens and pool were kept in a very good order. The hosts, Alex and Margherita were welcoming and attentive without ever being intrusive.
All of which resulted in providing a lovely home from home.
Perhaps the provisions of fans to keepcooler during the nights would be a benefit.
Personally I think air con detracts from the character of the place.

It is with regret that I write this note because it means that our visit here at La Ripa is over...far too soon
What a wonderful place you have here. We loved the location, we loved the atmosphere, we loved the quiet. It is always nice to come "home" after a day of beoing Tourists.
We hope we can return some day ....we'd like to share this little bit of heaven with you again.

We loved pretty much everything about Appartamento  I Ghiri. Sometimes at night it was loud because the motorcyles went
by loud and fast and we were right near the street or the dog would bark, but that really wasn't a big deal.
Everything else was PERFECT!
I have already recommended it to many people since we've been back.
Beautiful grounds, great location, clean pool, the owners were wonderful and very helpful.
